Young couple enjoying a short city break in Paris
Lovely hotel. Small cosy room with beautiful decor. Situated in a nice area within walkin distance of most major sights of Paris and very close to restaurant and bars. Great value for a hotel in Paris city centre. Would definately recommend staying here. Reviewed by S Crosbie, who stayed in January 2012
Good location (except for the noise) - that's about it
The hotel is in a good location. The room quality varies greatly - mine was ok (I had to view 3 to find one that was suitable and what I had booked) but noisy- both from the traffic outside, and I had the housekeeping phone outside my room which rang all the time (early in the morning). I also had housekeeping enter my room early on Sunday morning (twice) without knocking. Some staff were nice, some were rude- particularly the one who booked me a taxi when I was leaving - the taxi didn't turn up and she blamed Me! She was extremely rude and I am going to make an official complaint directly to the hotel about her. Reviewed by Amy H, who stayed in October 2011
Small but perfectly formed room in Paris
I loved the (very French) style of the room and the hotel. It was small but accommodated us perfectly for a short stay and was easy walking distance to Metro, museums and restaurants whilst providing a peaceful night's sleep. Reviewed by Karen H, who stayed in October 2011
Very small!!
Advertised as a junior suite but barely the size of a small double with very basic decor and contents. The up side was the location a stones throw away from Rue St Germain great for shopping and eating. Reviewed by Teresa P, who stayed in September 2011

Great location; friendly staff, adequate room; bathroom a bit small. it worked very well for us being situated it such a central location that we just left the car in the hotel garage and walked everywhjere Reviewed by Christopher C, who stayed in September 2011

The room was very small, but having a balcony definitely gave value for money. The breakfast was very good. Reviewed by A Solgaard, who stayed in September 2011

Excellent Location, Great Value For Money: Will be returning!
The best aspects of this hotel are the location, value for money and staff. It’s in the desirable and safe area of St Germain De Pres, very close to transport links, restaurants and the main tourist attractions.
My partner and I regularly stay in 4 and 5 star UK hotels, but were not disappointed by the lower 3 star L’Academie. The rooms are very quaint but on the small side by UK standards, however they are perfectly presented, comfortable and clean.
We had a couple of minor complaints with the room, a broken fridge and noisy air conditioning, but these were dealt with courteously and effectively by the hotel staff.
I didn’t think much of the breakfast as the choice was limited, but there are many cafes within easy reach of the hotel.
I will definitely stay at the L’Academie again and will recommend it to friends and colleagues.

Frankly extortionate.
OK, you're staying in st germain, but the room was 2.5mx2.5m. bathroom/shower worked and had how water but hadn't been refurbed in years. The aircon unit was bizarrely directly above the head of bed and really noisy.
It's a bit like the people running the hotel had never stayed in their own hotel rooms.
Plus, I emailed 3days before arriving to confirm the booking, and heard nothing back.

Great location in a good area hard to find fault and cheap by Paris prices

Was a lovely hotel in a great location. Perfect for what we wanted. Food wasn't the best, needed more choice. Would go back for another visit. Reviewed by A Hodge, who stayed in August 2010
Great location.
Great location, very short walk to lots of restaurants and bars. 10 minute walk to Notre Dame. Small rooms (but not unusual for Paris). Bathroom tiny. Could barely fit into the shower. We had a basic room. Maybe a more expensive one would be more spacious.

Academie Saint Germain Dix was an excellent choice!
We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights, checked out to go to Italy, and retuned for 2 more nights. The first room (and bathroom) we had was too small for 2 people. The hotel staff suggested that the lower price is really for one person and for 20 euro more, we could have had a larger room. We did not do this for visit #1 because we were too tired, but we did the upgrade for visit #2. The larger room was well worth the 20 euro - it was beautiful with a much larger bathroom. Front desk staff were excellent, very helpful and knowledgeable. Do not use the airport shuttle service at 34 euro for 2 passengers. We were told to assume one hour to CDG but it took closer to 2 hours to arrive due to a 30 min late arrival of the van and trips to pick up more passengers. we nearly missed our flight and ended our stay in Paris on a bad note. Should have taken a cab for 40 euro. Check out the Buci area for restaurants and Cafe de Flore around the corner - the best croissant of your life! Reviewed by Robin L, who stayed in June 2010
