Small and dirty
The rooms in the hotel are very, very small and poorly equipped.
During our stay the reception was under reconstruction with the result of dust and dirt everywhere in the hotel - rooms included.
Nothing of that was described on the web-site and no information was given at any time. Therefore we felt cheated. Reviewed by Ulrich R, who stayed in December 2011
Perfect
My husband and I spent 2 nights in Paris and the Art Hotel was lovely. The only negative is the rooms are small. But they are lovely, the bathroom is really nice and bed was really comfortable. It was really close to Gard de nord station and within easy reach of the metro. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel. Reviewed by A Manning, who stayed in September 2011

Not bad. Good value or money.
On arrival we were given a room which was very dirty and had not been serviced. Linnen was stained and room was very messy. We returned to reception and was told that we would be given anothe room with fridge as we inquired about cold drinks. However our room did not have one and wastold that the last occupant might have stolen the fridge. There was also no full length mirror as in our original room and only face mirror in WC. It was clean and presentable. Despite this our stay was good and the staff were helpful and we were offered another room the next day but couldn't be bothered. Staff able to speak English which was good as we could not speak French. Food ok. Overall nice place to stay to visit Paris. Immediate vicinity not very nice though as there are loads of beggers and drunks and streets are filthy near train station. Reviewed by BEEMAN L, who stayed in September 2011
Small hotel, small room but nicely decorated and functional
Good location for gare du Nord, 5 minutes away on foot. Busy street, but my room to the back was quiet. Breakfast average. Helpful staff, on the whole very good value for money at the Lateroom price of 110€. Reviewed by P Moe, who stayed in August 2011

Excellent accomodation in a great central location. The room was very spacious and the views were excellent. Would definitely stay again for business or leisure Reviewed by S Gilroy Collins, who stayed in August 2011
Very impressed
The hotel is in a very handy location less than 5min walk from Gare du Nord and therefore good transport links to everywhere in Paris. Seems to have undergone recent renovation and the room, although quite small, was perfectly adequate: comfortable, functional and clean. The staff seemed freindly enough although we didn't see much of them. The breakfast is nothing remotely fancy - bread, cheese, coffee, perhaps a croissant or a boiled egg if you're up early enough. Given that it's in Paris, the 99Euro price was pretty reasonable and we'd definitely stay here again. Reviewed by gareth w, who stayed in August 2011
Decent little hotel
The hotel is undergoing refurbishment, which meant that we zoomed blithely past the building, as the bright red frontage of the photograph has been replaced by a tasteful cream. We didn't eat there (just couldn't get up in time), but the area where breakfast is served is pretty grim and charmless. Reception isn't a place to linger, either. Perhaps awaiting refurbishment. The various (all male) receptionists were businesslike and courteous enough, but a little grim and perhaps slightly in need of refurbishment too. But the room was a delight. Squeaky clean, comfortable, with a flat screen TV, free Internet access and stylish, modern (and clean!) bathroom fittings. Oh, and a fridge, which proved very, very useful! No air conditioning, but that was fine on the days we were there. We were on the top floor which meant frequent rides in the miniscule lift. More than two of you and relationships blossom in surprising ways. The location is good too, only a short walk to the station, but a quick metro hop to anywhere else. The street not smart, but not seedy. Actually fine, a find, and good value. Reviewed by Terence F, who stayed in July 2011
Art Hotel Paris
Pleasantly surprised as to quality of room, cleanliness of accommodation. The room was on the first floor and was a good size with large shower. The room had air conditioning. We would stay there again. . Reviewed by C Williams, who stayed in July 2011

A Little Gem
Although the room was small, it was very clean with very good air conditioning and a very good shower. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. Very good breakfast. The area around the Art contained some good quality places to eat. Easy access to Metro, busses, and main railway stations. Would certainly stay there again. Fabulous value for money
My girlfriend and I had a fabulous time at this central Parisian hotel. The rooms were spacious (huge shower) and good quality. The reception area and lift weren't very appealing, though the hotel was under-going renovation which may explain this, but the room is what mattered to us. Breakfast was the usual buffet style and contained a good selection of food and drink. Will definitely book again when we return to Paris. Reviewed by Andrew W, who stayed in July 2011
Living in a garet
The hotel is an easy walk from the Gare du Nord. The neighborhood has many grocery stores and cafes, a fun place to walk. We also walked to Sacre Coeur, no problem for those over 80. A concierge was on duty all the time, spoke English, and was helpful. We received complimentary boat tickets for the Seine and used them.
Our room was a garret on the 7th floor overlooking the street and was quiet at night, probably during day also but I paid no attention. It was small but sufficient. I moved refrigerator a tad to use to hold one suitcase. The windows were new and opened and closed easily. The shower was good. There was no microwave, as advertized, but we did not need one. The double bed was comfortable.
I loved the breakfast hard rolls, assorted jams in small jars, and boiled eggs. Cafe au lait was infinite. Reviewed by Lawrence Rooney, who stayed in April 2011
Great Little Hotel
We decided to have a weekend in Paris and so looked for a hotel that would be near enough to get in an out of the City without being too expensive - and the Art Hotel seemed to fit the bill.
It is easy walking distance from the Gard du Nord, so ideal for CDG Airport as well as a good link to the rest of the city via Metro and RER.
The hotel itself is in the process of being redecorated and updated and our room seemed to have been finished maybe the day before we arrived, so was exceptionally clean and tidy. The room was small, but perfectly formed and had a superb shower - big enough for two ;-)
It was a little noisy with people in the street, until we discovered that the window had not been shut properly, which helped - although there wasn't much we could do about the amorous neighbours - but c'est la vie I guess!
The staff were very helpful and spoke English very well - better than my schoolboy French for sure - and there was no problem leaving our bags on the last day while we toured the Louvre prior to a late departure.
Breakfast was typical French style, with croissants, pain au chocolat, eggs, cheese, bread, yoghurt etc. and you could help yourself to whatever you wanted. There were plenty of places to eat nearby too and a few bars near the station, but we tended to go into the city anyway, which was easy enough on the Metro or RER.
Overall, a highly recommended hotel. Reviewed by Chris K, who stayed in March 2011
Valentine's treat
Hotel convenient for Gare de Nord and Metro access. Hotel was in the middle of renovations but our room was newly refurbished so and clean and modern. Reviewed by Yvonne M, who stayed in February 2011
