Paris in springtime
We stayed at this hotel for two nights.
The staff during the day were excellent ,they were very helpful even arranging flowers to be there on
our arrival.
We had a wonderful room overlooking the hustle and bustle
of the street below.
If u like busy and exciting(we did) then this is a great place to visit and use as
a base to see all the major sights.
It is located in a nice safe feeling part of the city, which is important if
You have stayed in rougher parts as we have on previous visits.

Good typical 2 star Paris hotel
The Avia hotel is an unexceptional and indeed typical 2 star Paris hotel. Facilities were clean but fairly basic. Breakfast was also basic. Staff are friendly. Reviewed by P Gray, who stayed in December 2011
Extremely Noisy.
We (a couple in our early 20's) were looking for a well priced and reasonable hotel for our weekend break in Paris and unfortunately the Avia let us down somewhat. For the price we paid we didn't expect much, just comfortable surroundings to sleep at night as the vast majority of our time was spent sightseeing and enjoying the food & drink in Paris. The hotel is well located, literally a stones throw from the Pastuer Metro station, just 4 or so stops down from the Eiffel Tower and about 50 minutes from Charles De Gaulle airport via Metro and Train. On arrival the receptionist seemed helpful enough, we weren't able to check in until 2pm which was fine as we spent some time out and about in the meantime. When we returned at around 2.30 it took some 10 minutes to be given a key, again fine and off we went to our room on the fourth floor. Unfortunately when my girlfriend opened the door to enter it turned out that somebody had already been given this room, they were sleeping and were obviously quite startled that we had gone barging in. We were able to appreciate that mistakes are made, saw the funny side and got on with getting the appropriate key for our room on the first floor. When we entered the room was small and basic with quite poor decor. On the plus there was a TV with digital channels and a large bay window which opened up to view the street.Again we accepted that we hadn't paid a great deal for the accommodation in comparison to some we had seen whilst looking, and we got on to more important aspects of our trip. The main issue with this hotel is noise and this is by far most noticeable during the night. The walls in the hotel are very thin, during the night we were able to hear every word of conversation from the 4 or so rooms that surrounded ours, footsteps on the stairs seemed amplified and on our final night we were woken by the sound of snoring in the room next door. I have read alot of reviews on this hotel, some good, some bad. I wouldn't say it is a particularly bad place to stay for a city break. It's convenient and well priced. The only thing to note is that it is very noisy, quite compact and not overly clean and tidy. Reviewed by Michael Butler, who stayed in October 2011
We will return
Great place to stay. Always someone on reception, and so helpful, which is a godsend when you don't speak french. Our room was clean and bright. Close to a Metro, making all the attractions easy to reach. Well worth the money, we will be back. Reviewed by janice french, who stayed in August 2011

Great location(very near the Metro) and a very friendly staff who can speak English too. She assisted us in many things and answered every question that we asked for. Reviewed by Roziah M, who stayed in May 2011
Disappointment awaits
I guess this building was converted to a 'hotel' in the 60s or 70s when really it should have been demolished. The layout simply does not work. The decoration dates back to the days of the conversion.
The rooms are tiny and have miniature 'en-suite bathrooms' squeezed into them. Anyone of significant size would simply not be able to squeeze into the shower - the screen opening is tiny. Every morning at around 6 a.m. linen is brought up to each floor by noisy young delivery men running up and down the stairs - that's when you realise just how thin the walls are.
I didn't bother eating at the hotel - I just wanted to get out of the building as much as possible.
I booked this room at a discounted rate of just over 65 Eur per night and I feel ripped off - a similar standard Formula 1 hotel would cost about 40 Eur and be much better. God knows how I'd feel if I'd had to pay the standard rate of 96 Eur per night. My advice - leave well alone.
The only good comment I can make is that the bedlinen was clean. Reviewed by Ray B, who stayed in February 2011
The welcome we received was dismal, and we'd had a horrendous journey there so that was disappointing. We had to pay as soon as we arrived before we'd even seen the room, and were told it was not possible to see the room first. The room itself was really small and we could hardly fit in, but it was clean and looked out on the street which was good. There was no kettle so we couldn't have tea/coffee in our room. The daytime receptionist was great (and the kitchen/cleaning staff too) Reviewed by Tessa G, who stayed in September 2010
Good value. Rooms need updating and staff could be more helpful. Reviewed by C Castro, who stayed in September 2010
Perfect hotel for short break in Paris
As a young couple, we were simply looking for a place to crash in a good location, and this hotel was perfect for us. Very good location, close to the metro and walking distance to a few attractions, clean, towels changed daily, with friendly staff and 24 hour reception. We stayed for two nights, we stayed on the 5th floor, not a problem as the hotel has an elevator. The first room we had had a wonderful little balcony, however we had to change to a different room on the second day as there was a small problem with our sink, but staff were very accommodating. The lady on reception was particularly helpful when we were trying to book a trip, she called around the various leisure providers as we were looking for an eiffel dinner package, unfortunately, it was full but she booked us on the Bateaux - Mouches dinner river cruise (which I would reccommend to anyone - very romantic). Overall, extremely good value for money! Reviewed by L Harris, who stayed in August 2010

Excellent hotel; good service, friendly staff, excellent value, near enough to be able to walk to everything; 20 minutes from the City Centre, 1 minute to the Metro ("Pasteur") , excellent cafe and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. Definitely recommend ! Reviewed by Peter Kenyon, who stayed in August 2010
The hotel was clean, simple and very close to the metro station.
Just a little awkward for people with lots of luggage as the lifts took you between floors and whatever floor you are on there are a few stairs.
One member of staff insisted on smoking outside the hotel and told us to go through the other door. Then made us wait until he had finished his cigarette.
Then again another member of staff was very helpful and friendly indeed! Reviewed by Helen S, who stayed in June 2010
