Chic and on the up
This hotel has loads of potential! Cute little garden and lovely accommodation. It seems as if the owners are working their way around adding a little more charm to the rooms too. We stayed in a tripple room with fab opening windows and quintessential iron "balconies". The sun streamed through all afternoon which was just stunning. Room had some charming pieces of ecclectic furniture which was a lovely touch and the most comfortable bed EVER! Could do with a little more colour and perhaps a large picture on the wall but I think the owners are in the process of doing these things and I can imagine it will fit the individual charm that they are sucessfully acheiving.
Lovely staff and lovely place! Reviewed by Katherine M, who stayed in April 2011
Nice and clean
This Hotel is a good choice for couples wanting to explore Montmatre and St Ouen fleemarket. Located near the Metro of Place de Clichy and near Moulin Rouge with everything that goes along with it. I would not recommend this for families with children as the neighbourhood is more "adult" :).
Rooms are quite small and with limited space for your clothes and stuff, but still suited us just fine.
We had a nice stay! Reviewed by Patrick B, who stayed in March 2011
Weekend in Paris
The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful, its in a great location literally yards from a metro and some great sights. The hotel is clean and so was the room, which had Wifi and a TV etc. Not that we were there that much. The room was great for what we wanted it for (a bed) however we had a top floor room which was quit dated and looked a bit like a loft conversion with a sloping wall/ceiling. This made having a shower difficult as the bath was against the sloping wall so it was near impossible to stand up in. Breakfast was good and is fairly good value for money at 8 Euro for a basket of mixed bread and jams, croissants, juice and fresh coffee. We only ate at the hotel on the first morning though as there are plenty of little cafes around. I chose this hotel as it looked quite good on the web site and I thought it would be a bit more comfortable than say a £60 per night hotel however at nearly £85 it was pretty basic so in terms of value its reasonable but there are cheaper hotels that are of the same standard. If you can get it under £70 per night then its well worth staying there, but I feel I was slightly overcharged for what it is. Other than price you can't go wrong, great location and great staff :) Reviewed by Alex W, who stayed in March 2011
Excellent value for money
The hotel was undergoing renovation and the guy on the front desk apologised for it. Having said that, the family room which we had was very clean, the beds very comfortable and they were made etc every day. The hotel was very close to a metro station but because it is on a small street was very quiet. We were told that the improvements are to include doulbe glazing to reduce any noise further, new bathrooms and so on - fairly major stuff. We had breakfast one morning and it was good value. The staff were all very friendly and hepful. We would definitely stay there again - so long as the renovations don't move it out of our price range! Would definitely recommend this hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was a really good size for Paris, with 2 windows overlooking street (a wee bit noisy as there was work going on along the street, but you can pay a little extra for superior room overlooking courtyard garden). Absolutely HUGE bed which was wonderful. We had breakfast on our last day there which was lovely and relaxed, and great value at only 9 Euro pp - well worth it. Would definitely recommend this hotel to others if they want to stay in Montmartre area. Reviewed by Helen D, who stayed in February 2011
Bad Luck
When I stayed here for my one night there was no hot water. When I explained this to the receptionist the next morning he said: "Je sais. C'est tous." <- no one had hot water. No discount was offered. I was offered a cup of tea but that was it. I guess it was bad luck and the receptionist tried to be polite about it but I was pretty miffed. Paris- place de clichy Dec2010
I thought the hotel was a great choice in the end, we wanted to go to disneyland and place de clichy turned out to be a busy lively place anyway with great network links, we only needed to change once to be on our way to Disneyland which took around 40minutes. The staff were always helpful with any questions and queries. Although the rooms are not how they appear in the pictures they were plenty big enough, clean and realitively modern/classic. Much better than many 3 star we stayed at in Paris.
We stayed at the three beds room. It is nice and clean - actually bigger than I expected. The staff are very friendly and nice. Great value. Reviewed by T Kong, who stayed in November 2010
Weekend City Break
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were compact, clean and tidy. The breakfasts were very good. The Metro was very close by so easy to get into the the centre of Paris. The rooms we stayed in overlooked the garden and were nice and quiet, The garden would be lovely in the summer/ spring to sit outside and have breakfast but we had snow and freezing temperatures outside so it was nice to look at it from the warmth of our rooms or the conservatory style breakfast room. We would definitely stay here again. Reviewed by S Phipps, who stayed in November 2010
Useful for what most people want out of a city break
In Montmartre, but not right next door to the red light district, BEAUSEJOUR MONTMARTRE is a small but perfectly formed hotel. My friend and I were visiting for my birthday and we found the hotel perfectly suited our needs. It was relatively central, with enough distance between the hotel and the main tourist attractions and night spots to not feel like you were on top of them if you didn't want to be.
We didn't try the food, so can't comment on that, however the hotel itself was clean and tidy and the staff were helpful. Perhaps the only problem was that at the time, the lift was out of service, so we couldn't use that to get to our room...on the 5th floor. However, the staff apologised for that and very kindly took our luggage up to our room for us. All in all, a good, value for money hotel that we'd recommend if you want to visit the capital but not blow your budget on accommodation. Reviewed by D Gibson, who stayed in November 2010
Basic city break accomodation
Were given the standard rooms on arrival although we had booked 2 superior twin rooms with balcony, but no problem swapping over after questioning the rooms we were given. However, superior rooms were still very basic, albeit a little more room, with no frills, not even drawers for clothing so this could be a problem for longer stays (we only stayed 2 nights). Showers good and beds comfortable enough. No air conditioning so maybe uncomfortable in summer months. Buffet breakfast of croissant and baguette in nice conservatory from 7-11am so there is no rush in the morning. Bonus is the courtyard garden for eating breakfast in warmer weather. Few hundred yards from Place to Clichy metro and bus stops so very convenient for transport. This area of the city felt safe enough with teenage children at night. Initially thought the hotel was over priced in comparison to the UK but after a few days in Paris concluded that everything here is very expensive ! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Paris. Reasonable for the price in Paris
The hotel was easy to find and literally took just a few minutes to walk to from Place de Clichy metro station. Very close to the main strip, restaurants and shops I was initially concerned about street noise but fortunately it was not an issue. It is not in the most picturesque area but within walking distance of the pleasant winding streets of Montmartre. The room was a decent size and clean. We didn't have much interaction with the staff so unable to comment on customer service. Overall a good place to stay for a short break. Reviewed by M Gray Taylor, who stayed in October 2010
Pleasantly surprised.
We spent 4 nights in the Beausejour Montmatre and we're very pleased with our choice of hotel. The accommodation was ample and very clean. The staff in the hotel were pleasant and very helpful. The breakfast was good value for money, 8 euros, which consisted of croissants, baguette, tea/coffee, boiled eggs, jams etc. The hotel is located just around the corner from the metro providing easy access to the city centre. We found it to be very quiet as we had a room overlooking the garden area. A five minutes walk takes you to the Moulin Rouge and a further five minutes takes you into the narrow restaurant filled streets of Montmatre with its Parisien charm and ambience. All in all a highly recommended hotel if you don't mind being that little bit outside of the main area of the city. Reviewed by P Kerr, who stayed in September 2010
