RUN!
After a dreadful experience where I lost my niece in Paris for 8 hrs we arrived at the hotel at 3:00am exhausted and shaken. We asked if there was ANYTHING in the kitchen we could eat (having not eaten since 3:00pm). The night clerk punched at his watch saying "do you KNOW what time it is!?!?! You cannot get anything now we are all closed up" Our room had a door that led outside to the fire escape that was unlocked and after our dreadful experience were most reluctant to go to bed with a door anyone could enter but the concierge refused to come and lock it insisting "no one can go on the stairwell except me, don't worry". Informing the day concierge in the morning got no response either. He backed up everything with a shrug, as in that's the way it is - deal with it! A bright exit light shone over the door (in the room) all night as well. I wouldn't go back there if they gave me a free room for a year! The area is so seedy the concierge had to escort us to our room and show us how to use a special key for the elevator so no one will "bother us". It's quite far from the city centre sights (even tho there's a metro nearby) . Reviewed by Rosalind B, who stayed in June 2011
Positives and Negatives
This was my second trip to Paris, but my first stay in this hotel and area. The hotel is excellent, lovely clean rooms, nice bathroom and fittings. The staff on reception were also brilliant, very helpful, friendly and helped me find the right routes on the metro to my destinations
However, the walls in the hotel are paper thin and noise from the road meant two nights disurbed sleep, Definately pack some ear plugs. Lastly the area isnt the best. Its ok during the day, but when it gets dark its definatly a rougher part of town with more drunks / hobos and prostitutes. Its not unsafe per say, just not the kind of place you;d want to come back to with young family or women alone. That said its a very short walk from the tube station and provided you were walking with purpose I have no doubt you'd be fine.
Despite the room being of a high standard I dont think I would stay in this area again, I would aim for somewhere closer to the south of the seine Reviewed by D Morrison, who stayed in June 2011
Lovely staff and great location.
My room was very comfortable and clean. The staff went out iof there way to help me and made me feel very welcome. Location was very close to metro as well. Reviewed by B Lacey, who stayed in June 2011
Bad location, not a good area, stay 10 minutes to the West, the east of Montmartre isn't nice at all
We fear for our safety when walking up from the train station, the location is really poor, the hotel itself is ok, small room, small double bed, quite busy outside as it's on a main road. I recommend staying west of this hotels location, we really liked Montmartre but didn't know there was a good side and a bad side - beware. Reviewed by Peter K, who stayed in May 2011

Paris trip
I took my daughter to Paris for a couple of days before she headed off to University and we had a fantastic time. We wanted somewhere cheap, clean and VFM (value for money doesn't come cheap in paris though!). The staff were excellent - helpful and friendly - a credit to the hotel. Hotel was fine for what and where it is. Almost central Paris & cheap - it's never going to be 7 star. Hotel lived up to expectations. Room was small, but again it's central Paris; beds were very narrow and a bit uncomfortable, but otherwise it was fine. Reviewed by Chris L, who stayed in September 2010

Although not in the best of locations , I would highly reccommend this hotel. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable, with tea and coffee making facilities which is not always available on the continent. The bathroom, again, was very clean and modern and we had clean towels every day. Although our room faced a busy street we were not disturbed as the room was double glazed and we had air conditioning. However there was a lack of restaurants in the area so we had to go further afield to eat in the evenings. For that reason we ate breakfast in the hotel which we thought a bit pricey at 13 euros, but there was a good choice. All in all, a very good hotel. Reviewed by S Brand, who stayed in August 2010
Short break in Paris
Very reasonable hotel, however it is on one of the main streets in Montmartre and you should therefore expect to experience being in a red light district, especially if you are returning to your hotel after dark.
We booked two garden rooms, one twin and one double, however one room was actually a non-garden view room and when raised with Reception they confirmed that they could move us but it would be to a double, rather than a twin. We declined and were advised that they could therefore move us to another twin the following night, but we instead decided to stay with the road view room and after a brief discussion with the Reception on the day we left, we negotiated a reduction for the first night. Despite overlooking the road, the double glazing was very good and there was very little noise. The room was adequate size for a short break, and was very clean - being serviced every day. I have stated that the hotel is suitable for a family holiday, but please note the comment above regarding the area around Montmatre - my daughter is 16 so found it all very amusing!
The Reception staff were courteous, friendly and very pleasant and I would definitely stay at the hotel again. Reviewed by Deborah U, who stayed in August 2010

my husband and I along with our adult daughter stayed one night here. The toilet was leaking and the curtain kept falling down every tome we touched it and that was the good part. We checked in and then went to dinner and to bed, at about 2:30 Am my daughter was awakened by a strange black man.in her room. It turned out to be the night clerk and he quickly left and then called her room to say it was a mistake, of course never identifying himself as the clerk. She was was terrified and still crying in the morning . Although I reported this to the hotel I recieved an inadequate response in my view. I will never stay at a best western again. Cheap stay in Montmatre
Needed an overnight stay for two days sightseeing. Room clean and tidy with compfortable beds and very clean and spacious bathroom. Air con worked well which was good as the room was on the front of the hotel and was noisy with the window open. The breakfast was of good quality. So overall a good experience when compared to other hotels where roomas can be unclean, small and have no facilities for breakfast. Reviewed by D LEESON, who stayed in August 2010

Great little hotel with modern bathrooms and updates. Very clean. Warm, friendly service. Subway is close by so you can reach the main sites easily. Reviewed by Lydia H, who stayed in August 2010
A wonderful budget hotel in Paris!
We arrived in Paris for general sightseeing and to see a concert in the centre. At first it appeared that our booking had been misplaced and that there was no room reserved for us. Following a short time the receptionist had found out booking and directed us to our room.
The room was comfortable and well appointed, the furniture was modern and above all the room was clean to a fault.
The room couldn't be compared to that of a luxury hotel but it was functional as a place to sleep and relax.
The area wasn't the most salubrious that Paris has to offer and I'd advise that flashy jewellery should be hidden when wandering around this area at night. However, this is good advice when visiting any major city in any country in the world. The hotel is very close to two metro stations and travel to Notre Dame and other attractions takes just minutes.
The star attraction here however is the service provided by the staff at the reception. They would do all they could to make your stay comfortable from organising taxis, recommending and booking restaurants and even translating services when my French simply wouldn't cope.
Overall, I would return to this hotel as it offers great value for money, fantastic service and helpful staff. Reviewed by Paul S, who stayed in June 2010
Nothing grand but good value
Room small but comfortable and clean. Had everything you need for short stay except storage space which was in very short supply. Bathroom however nice size and modern. Room was at front of hotel overlooking busy road but double glazing effective so noise not a problem. Hotel not in nicest part of Paris but convenient for eurostar travellers and metro station nearby. Did not eat there so cannot comment on food. Reviewed by S Piper, who stayed in May 2010
