Upgraded to Executive room with balcony with views to Eiffel Tower and Paris roof tops. Fantastic comfortable accommodation, pleasant staff, excellent location, metro at doorstep, Latin Quarter just 5 minutes walk, Notre Dame just 10 minutes walk, bars and restaurants abound. A perfect stay. Reviewed by Phil Wilkins, who stayed in September 2011
Best location modern hotel
We arrived in Paris by air....found CD airport confusing.....but did find our way finally to the train ticket office and got tickets for blue line to St. Michaels Station....is direct so no changing of trains.
Difficult with our luggage to get out ... up stairs...but finally found hotel with the help of our
trusty Paris Guide Book.
Holiday Inn Express is in a little street off an area of lots of outdoor cafes/restaurants.....Very modern hotel/clean and large room and bathroom (this is apparently amazing for Paris) and very helpful staff (one young man on the desk organised for us with another Holiday Inn in Amiens for a day trip to the War Cemeteries a couple of days later). The Best Position, we had a street front room but was not noisy at all.........easy walk for places to eat, a small grocery shop next door with the best raspberrys we have had in ages....had to buy a punnet everytime we went past. Is easy walk to Notre Dame and we caught the on/of buses from there. Also did lots of walking around the small streets and along the river, just beautiful.
We did not eat in the hotel, had breakfasts at the many eateries only a few steps away. Did have a drink one late afternoon, expensive but pleasant and attentive staff again. No WiFi in rooms, have to pay for internet access.
We would have loved to have been able to stay another 2 nights but Paris seemed to be booked out the next day (wednesday) so be aware....book well in advance and do stay for at least 4 nights.
Sorry LateRooms......but this was a great Hotel to stay and everyone will want to stay longer! Reviewed by A Storer, who stayed in May 2011
