Great staff, great location, awful hotel - potential death trap!
Staff were brilliant. really friendly and helpful. Location on the Left Bank was excellent. Hotel itself was terrible and a potential death trap. The fire escape on the back appeared to have been bricked up in order to create another room on each floor. This was quite a concern as the whole building had a lot of wood (the stairs were rickerty old wooden steps) and the walls were made of cardboard. Reviewed by Danny N, who stayed in November 2011
Freindly staff, superb location
Hotel de Beaune couldn't be in a better location -- 2 blocks from Seine and walkign distance from Musee d'Orsay, Louvre, Notre Dame, University Paris Descartes, & Eiffel Tower. Late Rooms price was about right for accomodation; small, dark room with noisy toilets, but bath/toilet en suite and a comfortable, clean bed. No clock or mirror in the room (aside from the mirror in the bathroom). The first morning, I didn't receive my requested wake-up call, but aside from that, the staff were fantastic--all with very good English. Didn't try the breakfast. Parisian shabby chic,,,,
Fantastic location - 1 min walk from the river, 5 mins walk from Musee d'Orsay,10 mins walk from St Germain/Left Bank., 15 mins walk from the Orangerie and Concorde - in a quiet quarter of art/antique shops. Rue du Bac & Solferino metros 10 mins.
Staff were delightful, smiling and helpful - printing off maps of local area, allowing us to book in online for return flight - providing hair dryers when those in room didn't work.......!
Rooms large enough, a table and easy chair with a certain fin de siecle faded elegance. Bathrooms could do with a refurb but would definitely go back. Reviewed by Carol W, who stayed in August 2011
No wifi in reality; just 1 ethernet cable connection in lobby.
This hotel is one of the handful of affordable, romantic, old-style hotels left in any of the inner arrondissements, with a beautiful and very helpful location near Musee d'Orsay and the Louvre.
However, we stayed 3 nights (June 2011), and it is important for travelers to know that they don't really have wireless internet connection anywhere (even in the lobby), as was already noted in many online reviews. Instead, they have one ethernet cable connection (to their lobby computer), which they can detach and hook up to each guest's computer (if it has ethernet port) in succession. This can be very frustrating if a bunch of guests are waiting to use that single ethernet cable connection--and of course means that purely wi-fi (iphone, etc.) connections are impossible. The staff kept saying each day that the lobby wi-fi would be fixed (for the tiny lobby only) but in fact nothing was done while we were there, and this same problem is noted by guest-reviewers at many different periods, leading us to doubt if there is actually any wifi service available at any time. So the hotel is old-fashioned in that respect as well! Reviewed by James M, who stayed in June 2011

Shabby chic in a fabulous location
This hotel is in the perfect location, a minute from the river, and five minutes walk from the Musee D'Orsay and the Boul St. Germain. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was fairly shabby, although the bedding and towels were clean and of good quality. As long as you do not plan to lounge in the room it is the perfect budget hotel for a city break. Well below standard for a 2 star property ...even in Paris..!!
Entrance and lobby were very dark dim and unappealimg.
Room was very very small (small is norm in Paris) , Grubby wallpaper , torn and stained..
Bathroom had broken sink,Sink had broken tap/faucet, broken shower tray, and broken shower hose,.
Lift was extremely small and narrow and we had the misfortune to get stuck in it on a power failure..!! Checked 2 satr Hotels close by similar pricing but much more appealing and cleaner ..!! Reviewed by C M, who stayed in September 2010
Very enjoyable stay!
The Hotel de Beaune is in an ideal spot for exploring the St. Germain area of Paris. It is a five minute walk from the Musee d'Orsay and only just across the river from the Louvre. It is listed as a "Hotel de Charme" and, while not offering luxury, is perfectly comfortable. The lift is probably the narrowest in the world so it's not good for claustrophobes. The staff were very charming and helpful. Reviewed by J Savage, who stayed in September 2010
I was very pleased with my accommodations at the Hotel de Beaune. The room was clean--towels and sheets changed daily. Cannot comment on breakfast since I always know where to find meals in Paris. (I lived in the city for six months in the past as a student and have visited it at least six times since then.) The neighborhood was quite quiet. And cannot comment about the staff since I know the answers to all of the traditional questions that tourists ask! The only negative is that a bit more attention might be given to decor which is very dated. The elevator is one of the smallest I have ever seen--but it worked and that was especially important for me with my room on the 6th floor. Very small hotel with only 18 rooms and therefore one does not have to worry about excessive noise from numerous guests. Reviewed by Thomas C. S, who stayed in June 2010
The service was fantastic. The staff were very polite and really helpful. The room was cosy and the hotel was such a lovely little place. I was extremely happy with the hotel and price. I will 100% stay there again if I go back to Paris. The best hotel I've stayed in. Reviewed by Hannah Brookfield, who stayed in May 2010
