A lot better than the reviews suggested
The hotel was clean and the rooms were nicely presented, yes it was not in the nicest of area but for sub €100 per night it did what it said on the tin. Reviewed by Graham O, who stayed in March 2012

Great service, ready to help 24/7. Rooms are not something fascinating but they are clean, warm and they have what you need. Bathroom is quite small, not suitable for tall or weighty persons. The first impression of the neighbourhood is scaring but don't be afraid at all. Noone bothers you and it's near metro. The breakfast was more than I excpected, free wifi is a great addition. I recommend it if you find a fair price or an offer. For higher price, you may find something better. It's a good hotel with perfect service. Reviewed by Savvas Kalderis, who stayed in March 2012
A Two Night Stay in February
We found the hotel to be warm, clean and beautifully decorated, though the room and bathroom seemed smaller than the photos suggested. The area is quiet, and we slept well. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the candlelit breakfast room in the Cellar was a delight. We would definitely stay again. Good value at the Late Rooms Rate. Not a good area and not all rooms have been updated
Stayed there as close to Gare du Nord but don't walk there at night! Is 15 minute walk from station if you don't walk along the metro connection to La Capella. From La Capella its 5 minutes. Other reviews said it had been refrurbished but my room had not and the bathroom was appallingly small and just horrible with mouldy tiles, rotten wood door frame and so small you had to almost sit under the sink to use the toilet! Also I had nowhere to hang clothes apart from small cloth temporary wardrobe and the bed was covered with wool blankets and sheets.. no duvet. However its cheap and Paris is not cheap to stay and price included breakfast and staff were friendly. So take the rough with the smooth! Reviewed by John B, who stayed in November 2011
Ok hotel
This hotel is OK, the staff are friendly, hotel is clean and well run. The Area is not the best, although less than 100m from la chapelle metro. The original price quoted by laterooms is outrageous! This is a £45 per night 2* hotel and for that money it is decent. Reviewed by Jack B, who stayed in January 2011

This hotel was a tad hard to find, A lot of people were confused as to where the street was "Philipe De Gerrad", But once found it was very memerable, It did have a road barracade outside of the hotel and the immediate area was a little bit on the dodgy side, but you can live with it. great location as right next to the metro and Gare Du Nord so perfect to go anywhere in Paris.
