Can get better value elsewhere. Was a convenient stop off, especally for train station, but very disappointed in the room looking into inward lightwell. Staff very helpful. Reviewed by david r, who stayed in July 2011
Ticks all the boxes
Clean, quiet, convenient, inexpensive. I expected a hotel near a railway station to be a bit dodgy and noisy, but this was none of those things (admittedly my room did not face the street). I had a thoroughly pleasant stay. The fridge in the room enabled me to shop at the local Monoprix for my own breakfasts, taken in the quiet and privacy of my own room. Near both the Gare de Lyon and the Quai de la Rapée metro stations, this hotel is well situated for getting to various destinations. Reviewed by Gillian P, who stayed in June 2011
Litle Hotel with a Big Heart
I'll start with my gripes:
a) We had heavy suitcases, were given a bedroom on the 4th floor but the lift only went to the 3rd floor! We were asked if we could cope with that before they gave us the key to the room. We did.
b) It cost 4 Euro to use a safe for 5hrs.
c) No hot water for a shower at 19.30hrs. Plenty in the morning.
d) There were no facilities for making tea or coffee. The real negative!
Now the plus points:
a) It was only about 200m from the Gare de Lyon.
b) It was clean and comfortable and very competitively priced. We were only there one night but we could have stayed in the room for a longer period without a problem.
c) The staff spoke English to a good level, were helpful and accomodating. Not one shrug or glare throughout our stay. A real positive in France.
d) Lots of good restaurants and bars within easy walking distance for both evening meal and breakfast. Reviewed by J M C, who stayed in November 2010

Central cheap stopover for visiting Paris
As it was close to Gare de Lyon it was handy for our late arrival in the evening. There are loads of good bistros, restaurants close to this hotel. It is only a 10 minute brisk walk to the city centre. Good value for money - just don't expect too much for your money. Reviewed by Nicholas Allbeury, who stayed in June 2010
