Nowhere near Montmartre, very poor quality.
This hotel is nowhere near Montmartre, not even in the same arrondissement. There are 4 Hotel Des Arts in Paris and this is not the nice one. The only good thing you can say about this hotel is that the bed clothes were clean. The room was really shabby and could not have been decorated in the last 20 years. The towels had holes and the pillow was as thin and hard. The shared toilet on the landing was so small you can only just fit it. The only reason to stay here would be if you want to know what it was like for starving artists in the past. I would never stay here again and I would only recommend it to someone I really hate. Basic, but alright
Very basic, but clean rooms close to Métro Station "Cadet" in Paris. If you just want a bed in Paris for a good price in a good location, this is the place to go.
Last minute booking with Laterooms.com via telephone worked out perfectly. Reviewed by Sebastian U, who stayed in March 2012
My stay at Des Art Paris
I was hoping my stay here was a blast. But it turned out its not as great as i imagined. The customer service was poor. Reviewed by Amin A, who stayed in March 2012
The worst Hotel experience ever
From the check in we encountered a very poor service, where the hotel owner basically screamed at us to come back one hour later to check in because he just woke up (and this was 2pm in the afternoon). We managed to stay there 1 evening before we changed the hotel. I would really not recommend anyone to stay there because it was absolutely horrible. The standard of the room was bad with unfinished paintings and cracks in the ceilings, the toilet and towels looked unclean and basically A bad experience. Not always is good when it is cheap
They ordered to pay off by credit card for 7 nights as soon as I came in the hotel that isn't so pleasant. They have given a room on the sixth floor, but the Internet access is only in hotel foyer. The gymnastics are useful to health. The room ceiling looks very modestly. A toilet is out the room? it has a very low ceiling. A bathroom is on the second floor. The washstand is in a room, however they don't give any soaps, you need to have your own soap. Linen was replaced only once. But the view from the sixth floor to Paris is simply magnificent. Hotel Des Arts...more like a hostel
Staff aren't friendly. You could see them lying on the sofa behind the screen door behind the front desk watching the TV. If you want your key you have to wait about 5/10 minutes for them to decide to get up. The room I was initially given was terrible. Wall paper pealed off, sink was blocked, bed hadn't been changed, pillow was torn and pieces were falling out of it. After complaining, I was moved to a smaller room (width of a single bed plus a door and about 3 feet at the bottom of the bed). This bed was comfortable and clean and being on the 6th floor, I could see the top of the Eiffel Tower.
The hotel is very close to the major attractions (20mins walk to Notre Dame). Worst thing is the walk up the steep stairs after a days walking. Even though you share a toilet and shower (on 2nd floor) it isn't too bad. The price was very good for being in Paris. Next time I'll splash out for a hotel that has friendlier staff, and a bar on premises. Good for students or those travelling. Its basically a hostel that could do with a re-vamp. Belfast has better hostels for cheaper. Reviewed by Mark M, who stayed in November 2011
Not fit for purpose
We had booked a 'superior double room' for 3 nights at this hotel, and after arriving in the evening after a long journey from the south, found that our designated room was not available. The management required payment for the entire stay upfront and said that we would be able to occupy our room for the second and third nights, but had to take a room on the fifth floor for the first night. The room was entirely unfit for occupation - the bathroom especially being a disgrace - the toilet seat was on the floor and there was black mould all round the shower and on the ceiling. The decoration in the room was poor, with peeling plaster and grubby furnishings. The 'superior' room we finally occupied was an improvement, but still very basic and not worth the money. Underwhelming
As someone used to staying in hostels I’d say my standards of accommodation are not particularly high. This hotel however still managed to disappoint. The location was, to be fair, good – right near a very handy metro station. The staff however gave me a feeling of slight unease, as did the ‘luggage room’ which was apparently simply a small, unlocked, room right by the main entrance. The room wasn’t filthy but had peeling wall paper and furniture that looked close to falling apart. The most offensive part of the whole hotel had to be the bathroom though, which was a dirty looking room with an equally dirty looking bath. For one night in Paris the hotel wouldn’t be too bad, but after three nights I was very eager to leave it.

hotel des arts montmartre
A very basic hotel. just a sink, toilets on the landing, not the Hilton but for the price and the location I cant fault it, i was travelling alone, wouldnt fancy taking my family but for backpackers and couples maybe a perfect spot to see Paris, staff are sort of helpful, dont expect tourist info though, just read the leaflets in the reception area. Like i said not perfect, but comfortable enough, and you can get anywhere in Paris from Montmartre, for price and location, a good call. Reviewed by M Yusef, who stayed in February 2011
Not bad for a budget hotel
Whilst this hotel wasn't anything spectacular, the location was good and for the price I was charged I felt it was fairly good value for money.
my main complaints would be the noise outside the room. Considering that the Rue de Rochechouart is just a side street, I found it to be far too noisy and I did not feel the room was sufficiently insulted against the noise, which made sleeping difficult.
Also some of the toilets in the hotel were missing toilet seats. Whilst I was still able to use the toilets this made things a bit awkward at times.
The hotel was situated near a metro station and getting around Paris wasn't an issue for me. The room was adequate (besides the noise of course) so I have no complaints on that front but I still wish something could've been done about the toilet and the noise! Do Not Throw Away Your Money
I do not know how to rate this hotel as it does not stand any chance. For example, my room was on sixth floor, shower was on second floor and no lift in the building (I repeat no lift in the building). Rooms were dirty. No breakfast available even on payment. Carpets need replacement. Staff is rude and does not speak English. Reception is closed from 12:00 am (0000 Hrs) to 09:00 am (0900 Hrs). What else you want to know? Avoid by all means
- Very unfriendly staff
- Smelly rooms
- Awful service
- Room was on 6th floor - shower was on 2nd floor Reviewed by Omar Hafez, who stayed in October 2010

The hotel is conveniently located. There are 6 floors and no elevator, noone will help you with luggage. The shower is on the 2nd floor only. The view from the window is great - you see Monmartre and the Tower! The customer service depends on the person. I was frustrated with one reception clerk, but the one that changed him for the night was very helpful. Reviewed by Larissa M, who stayed in October 2010
The worst hotel in the world, if we can call that place as a hotel.

The lines were dirt, full of hair, the bathroom was disgusting.
The towel was dirt as well and full of someone hairs.
not even for free!!!!!
I have no words to discribe that place.

I did this... I found near there a realy nice and clean place, almost the same price, with very polite and educated people.
