Good Hotel - Would Stay Again
The Hotel is in a good location with easy access to the Metro (direct line from Gare du Nord, so easy to get from Eurostar terminus) and within 30mins walking distance to the city. Although close to the very busy Place de la Republique the hotel itself is in a quite side street, so there is virtually no traffic noise. There are Plenty Of Bars & Restaurants within easy reach.
Our room was comfortable and very clean.
Whilst we were staying (early March 2012) the Hotel next door was undergoing major renovations. This meant that there was some noise from around 8am. This didn't cause us any problems but might be a nuisance if you like a lie-in! Could be worth checking if the work is still ongoing if you think this could be a problem.
Only other minor comment was that there was only one English language channel available on the TV (CNN International). Again this wasn't really a problem for us. But it would have been nice to have a bit more choice. Reviewed by David B, who stayed in February 2012
Would stay again!
Great location within walking distance from the city centre. Nice area with bars, bistros & restaurants. Go right out of the hotel to find good places to eat in the evening. Free wi-fi in room. Good place to stay as a base. Night staff we saw spoke some English & very helpful in trying to point us in the right direction! Would stay again! Only down is that the parking is off site (only 2 mins) & cost us 56 Euro for 36 hours. Reviewed by Jennie C, who stayed in September 2011
Exactly what we hoped for and more
We were really pleased with this hotel. My sister and I stayed for 3 days in August, with the intention of spending all day out seeing the sights of Paris. At just under £30 a night each for a twin room it cost little more than a reasonable youth hostel in Paris would have. The location was great, we walked almost everywhere in the city centre from there. Although only 2*, previous reviews were accurate in the good quality of the service the hotel provides. The hotel was near a useful metro station and easy to find, but also on a quiet backstreet, beds were comfortable, our room was spotless when we arrived, and cleaned every day while we were there, we had a corridor to ourselves, the ensuite bathroom was good, though the shower was part of the bath and you therefore had to hold the showerhead whilst using it. Very comfortable all in all! Staff were pleasant, if not overly friendly. At 9 euros each we decided to breakfast elsewhere. There were plenty of restaurants around, but we had to walk for a while to find a supermarket or bakery. Only other minor concern was that we had issues working out how to use the air-con. The hotel was very quiet, felt like we were some of the only people staying there. Reviewed by Matt H, who stayed in August 2011
Good basic hotel
Location is close to underground (metro) to get around Paris. Hotel decor is a bit outdated but fine otherwise. Close to local cafes, restaurants and bars. Reviewed by Archana S, who stayed in August 2011
Should have been breakfast included
Lovely place to stay but thought breakfast would have been included in the price but thought it was a good clean place to stay and staff are very curtious. Reviewed by Alan L, who stayed in July 2011
