"I managed to book this hotel for only one night but I have prolonged my stay to five nights (thanks to a cancellation). The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room is nicely decorated although a few things were not functioning very well in my room -- the curtains / blinds don't shut more than half-way, the old radiator makes quite a racket (constant dripping), etc. -- but the room is comfortable and the bathroom is very nice and suprisingly large by Paris standards given the relative cost of the hotel -- and I have stayed in several dozen Paris hotels over the past two decades or so. The shower is superb (with all over body massage options, etc.). The hotel looks as though it's being done up with incomplete work everywhere. Having said that I did not notice any work going on during my stay, which suggests that the owners are taking their time with the renovations. The dining area is rather too basic for my liking (and I've stayed in cheaper hotels with much nicer eating areas) but, again, renovations appear to be going on. My 'single' person room is at the back, off the roads, so my undisturbed sleep every night might not be typical. Still, rue Jean de la Fontaine and rue Ribera are very quiet at night and never terribly busy during the day. The best thing about the hotel is the breakfast which is impressively copious (for a Paris hotel breakfast) with patisseries, breads, jams, juice, yougurt and compote. I felt stuffed after each breakfast so I cannot see how many others could consume the whole thing! The coffee was lovely -- but I'm not very fussy. The staff were happy to serve me breakfast late (at 10am)! This might not be an ideal tourist hotel as it is not near to any significant attractions and it is quite far south in the 16th arrondissement. Still, the nearest metro (line 9) is only a five minute walk away (Jasmin station). This is 'real' Paris (or rather 'real bourgeois' Paris as flats in the area are amongst France's and thus Europe's most expensive on a per square metre basis). Despite the residential feel to the area, there are dozens of restaurants and cafes within a 10 minute walk. Rue Mozart (5 minutes walk) has the full range of typical shops. There is an excellent boulangerie on the corner opposite and the Chinese restaurant opposite is superb. Good place to stay with young children as there are two very nice small parks within a five minute walk and a carrousel (in the summer) in the grounds of the Catholic centre connected to the Eglise d'Auteuil just down the road. "
