Touring paris
This was a good hotel centrally placed. The staff were helpful, the room fine. The local area is bustling and good to eat out in the evenings. We walked to the Notre Damn, the Eiffle Tower and the Louvre comfortably. Well worth staying at if you are visiting Paris Reviewed by M Wainwright, who stayed in April 2012
Mum, dad and 2.5 year old
Staff couldn't have been more helpful. I arrived on my own (husband working that afternoon we arrived in Paris) with lots of bags plus small boy and pram. The hotel staff instantly leaped to help, gave toys and games to my son to keep him busy, and were genuinely keen on making sure that our stay got off to a good start. Big room, comfortable bed and clean. Only small glitch was the lack of bath which isn't great with a 2.5 year old. But the sink was so huge I just bathed him in that. Great location and a family friendly atmosphere. Would definitely book again. Reviewed by Delia Z, who stayed in March 2012
Great find
This hotel is in the perfect location - Les Halles is a great place to stay, with a large (and currently being renovated) shopping mall underground, plazas with shops and restaurants at street level (easy with a young family, as you can walk to a restaurant in 1 minute from the hotel - great at the end of a long day), and only 10 minutes easy walk to the river/ louvre or 15 minutes to the batobus stop or Notre Dame. Also nr Rue St Honore for more individual shops. We ate out for breakfast (Alot cheaper and nicer than the hotel). This is not Parisien chic, but good functional place to lay your head. Would definitely use again. Reviewed by Lisa E, who stayed in October 2011
Over priced
This is an all right hotel in the centre of Paris and close to good train, metro and bus connections. However the hotel had a strike while we were there and the housekeeping staff were shouting, screaming and playing drums as if at a football match - from early morning until night. Not the best in a 4 star hotel. We were at first put in a smoking room when we specifically asked for a non smoking room - then we got another room but not enough towels, cups, toiletries so we went in search of them. It is ok for a night or two but ... Reviewed by Lesley D, who stayed in October 2011
Service/Value
The hotel is in a great location and resonably priced when you look at other hotels charges. The hotel is let done by some pretty poor individuals which is a shame. For instance one night two barmen where on and one was exceptionally nice and accomodating while another was plain rude and unhelpful which was annoying. Staff seem to have great understanding of other languages i.e. english, spanish, italian. The rooms are spacious, and seemed clean. there is some major building works going on near the hotel so beware if you are a light sleeper as they didn't seem to opperate on UK rules for late and early! A short walk to La Lovure and also Notre Dame, plus if you need it the Metro is about 2 minutes away! Reviewed by Graeme F, who stayed in August 2011
Novotel Les Halles with family
We stayed at the Novotel les Halles for 2 nights mid-August. The hotel was excellent in every way - its location is perfect, a short stroll from both the Pompidou Centre, the Louvre and the Seine. It was spotlessly clean, modern and great sized sound-proofed rooms - we had a superior room with a fold-out double sofa for the two kids which was great. The staff were really helpful and friendly. As we had a very late flight home the use of the left luggage room was an added bonus as it meant we could check out and spend the day in Paris without having to drag our bags around with us. I would highly recommend this hotel - a brilliant find!! Reviewed by N H, who stayed in August 2011
We enjoyed our stay at Novotel les Halles
The location is perfect for a holiday visit in Paris, short distance to many sights and nice areas. The hotel was excellent: Nice and quiet room, reception area with space for the teenagers as well as available computers and wi-fi. Very good breakfast. Will surely come back later. Family Break to Paris
Excellent location. Easy access from CDG direct rail line (RER B) to Right outside Hotel door with no need for expensive taxis. Staff very welcoming which was appreciated. Rooms as expected, clean and tidy with modern decor. No noise which was also excellent in getting a good night rest after a busy day. Plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from. Would come again. Nice hotel and perfect place to bring your family
We really liked this hotel, the staff was very helpful and service minded, the superior room was perfect for a family with two children, the breakfast (not included) was very good and the location was in walking distance to all we needed during our stay. If you will visit Disneyland the RER station is just around the corner also. Reviewed by Leif R, who stayed in May 2011
Lovely hotel in great location
We booked one night in Paris at the start of a longer French holiday. As we only had a short time in Paris we wanted something that was fairly central with good tube connections and the ability to walk to some French attractions. We were travelling with our two sons aged 9 and 7. The room was fairly compact, but clean with a double bed and two single beds, decorated in a contemporary style. The shower was fantastic, bath european size.
The only criticism was the tea and coffee making facilities which were mediocre. The rate was fairly high but we have stayed in some really grotty city hotels that were not much cheaper. There were renovations going on in the gardens and it would have been nice to have explored these, but there was lots of other things to see and do.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly. We did not eat in the hotel, choosing to rather have dinner at one of the many bistros within walking distance and breakfast at a quaint cafe opposite a fountain just across from the hotel.
The closest tube was a 5 minute walk from the hotel and only a couple of stops from the Eiffel Tower. On the morning of our departure we were able to walk along the Seine to the Louvre. All in all a good experience. Reviewed by L Howie, who stayed in April 2011
Great location and spacious room
Very conveniently located to the metro and RER station Chatelet Les Halles. Food was easy to find and the staff was very accomodating and gave us extra pillows, milk and cups and sugar when requested. Clean and spacious. Helpful with information and the bonus was the hotel service in booking Disneyland tickets and also information for things like the river cruise. Reviewed by Kevin C, who stayed in February 2011
