Great location, shame about the service
I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. The location of the hotel is great, there are many metro stations nearby servicing different lines and best of all, the hotel was only a 5 minute walk to Seine and across the bridge was the Lourve.
However, the customer service was not befitting, even for a 2 star hotel. After our 2nd day of sightseeing, we returned to the hotel only to be told that we have to change rooms and to make matters worse, they had already moved all of our belongings for us without telling us. They advised that we were suppose to have been told and when we replied that we weren't notified they simply shrugged their shoulders to say bad luck!
The best thing about the hotel is definitely its location, so if you're not planning on being at the hotel much then this is perfect, just be sure to lock all your belongings in your bag!! Reviewed by Steve H, who stayed in June 2011
Central Paris
Miserable staff seemed depressed, and the hotel reflected this - miserable room, a joyless experience, highly overpriced for the experience.
Breakfast poor, much better in any local cafe. Reviewed by Val S, who stayed in May 2011
This hotel houses one of the wonders of the world
Yes we travel all over the world looking for amazing wonders but here in Paris we have the smallest lift (unless you know better) You will think you have seen small lifts before but I may suggest not this small. The hotel was fine in most repects. It was exactly where we wanted to be although was a bit tatty with paint peeling here and there. But the overall friendliness and clenliness was there that is all that is really required when you are in a city on a break with somewhere to park your body between the hours of 3 till 2 am.All Paris hotels in this area are expensive but this was cheaper than most. Advantages: A friendly, laid back place in an excellent central location for exploring Paris.
Room and bathroom was clean enough. Free wifi.
Drawbacks: waterproof mattress covers - sweaty back! Quite a lot of traffic noise - rooms at the front might not be great in Summer if you wanted to leave the window open at night. No tea/coffee making facilities in room.
On the whole, this place was good value for money as it was very cheap for such a centrally located hotel. The location makes it easy to retreat for a rest, or to change during the day. I wouldn't bring the love of my life here for a romantic tryst, but as a traveller on a tight budget I was happy enough. Reviewed by J Tait, who stayed in December 2010
We weren't expected
When we got there, they weren't expecting us, but they were very nice, and found us another hotel nearby. Reviewed by jock blakey, who stayed in October 2010
Conveniently base for a city break with many plus points but ...
The staff were helpful and our original room was changed willingly after we found it to have no power to TV or bedside lights. Space was tight but we found it adequate for a city break. Our second room had a larger en suite but its window would not open. However, somebody had broken a pane of glass for much needed through ventilation and the parcel tape covering it was easily opened. The bed linen and towels were very clean and the room was cleaned daily to a good standard, although its blankets and carpet might benefit from an early deep clean. The bed was comfortable, but our need to have the front window open for ventilation allowed slow traffic noise in and we found ear plugs useful at times during the night. The central location is excellent and there is a small food shop next door (open until midnight), a bakery a few doors down - and the restaurants of the Quartier Latin start around the corner. Recommended at the price within such limitations. Reviewed by Philip Hawkins, who stayed in September 2010
Dont stay here if you are claustrophobic!!! However...
Possibly the smallest lift in the world!????
Tiny, basic room.
However; great location!
20 euros per night too expensive????
Discuss!

Short stay
Disappointing. The lift was tiny and I preferred to take the several narrow flights of stairs past the holes in the wall! The room itself was adequate and the beds comfortable but the bathroom was dated and poor. The lavatory did not flush properly but we managed to tweak it. The location was the saving grace being so close to St Germain du Pres and so many places of interest. The breakfast room was out of commission for repairs but we were not told on arrival. The staff were on the desk but absorbed in things electrical. Reviewed by d. wood, who stayed in October 2010
