not as good as expected from a four star
The room was nice but quite a bit smaller than expected, there were some empty spirit bottles in the mini bar, the shower are was a little grubby (but only in one corner) the staff were a little miserable and breakfast was very expensive. at £115+ a night i would have expected this to be included. however, the maids were very good at cleaning while we were out and very trustworthy, the hotel is lovley i think we just had a bad room. the bar in the hotel was minimal (no beer) but it was sufficient and we really enjoyed our time in paris, the location is great with a lovley bar just 4 or 5 metres away and some nice restaraunts too. although the service wasnt very friendly we did see multiple other hotels in that area that looked quite unclean ect so this was was very good for the area. Great room, terrible service
The negatives - no parking and truly terrible customer service
We booked this hotel as it's website said it had its own parking. As we were driving from Calais and would arrive late, this was a key feature. But no - on arrival the rude, surly night receptionist said they didn't have any parking and no, he couldn't help us unload the car. I told him three times that I was pregnant and could he help me, but he refused. In the end, my husband and I (and v tired young son) had to struggle along the pavement with all our luggage and push it to the room. Then drive 15 mins away to park the car at an additional cost of 32 Euro for the day - a hassle we did not need after a long and tiring journey.
The positives - the room
We were offered a duplex room with a bathroom, WC and small lounge downstairs and a large bedroom with a double and a single upstairs. The quality of the furnishings was great. It's a really plush finish and has a very luxurious feel (apart from overlooking the air cons!)
The so-sos - the location
This hotel is in the 13th district with a park full of drunk guys right out front. It's a little out of the way of the main heart of the city and is a decent walk or metro ride to get anywhere. Reviewed by Kelly T, who stayed in July 2010
